Decal Maintenance
CLIMATE
In colder climates, Decals on windows of vehicles can be damaged by the scraping
of frost or ice from the windows.
Mild window cleaner may be used to clean the windows without damage to the Decal.
CLEANING
Use only mild window cleaner, avoid ammonia based cleaners like Windex. Do not use a brush as the bristles may push liquid under the adhesive layer. Use care when wiping and avoid wiping over sharp points. Should a point lift and get soiled you will need to remove the the soiled area since it will not re adhere. Use a sharp razor-blade or hobby-knife, this will stop successive peeling of the area. A clean lifted point will more often than not re-stick to the surface once it's dry.
WAXING
On painted surfaces of vehicles, care must be taken when waxing. Wax will build
up around the edges of the Decal, and will need to be removed. Use a soft cloth,
and take your time, and be gentle. A brush, will force the wax underneath the
edge of the Decal, and the Decal will begin to peel.
AUTOMATIC CAR WASHES
The
Decal will not be damaged by normal use of automotive car wash products, or
water.
Although the decals will withstand pressure washers, and automatic car washes,
these will reduce the life and appearance of the Decal.
DURABILITY
Under optimal conditions, our calendered vinyl decals will last from 5 to 7
years, our specialty vinyl materials range in lifespan from 6 months to 2 years
depending on the one you've chosen.
A decal
will not last forever, however it will give you many years of enjoyment if you
take care of it.
